Hi I've just downloaded this and installed it on my PC... Is there any way thati can redirect the network traffic through my proxy server? port 29000 is blocked via firewall... is there any way i can bypass it?

Why not add an exception to that port?

Here's the deal:

You can play it through a proxy, such as proxifier.

I am in the same predicament, as I'm at a school that blocks that traffic, and I have no access to the firewall. After some issues, I got my game working with tor. Great success! Or so I thought. As soon as I logged in, I got banned.

I'm not too clear on the rules for proxies, but if you use an open proxy or one from another country, you will probably get banned.

I haven't tried setting my own up yet, but if it works, I'll post a tutorial here...

In the meantime, I'd suggest looking for other connections to the internet in order to play.

Pretty strange that your school hasn't blacklisted all the proxy sites. They usually do that, at least after the first attempt to go somewhere through the proxy.

It might be that your address was from a wrong country, as there are some countries that are blocked by PW. If that's the case then you could try again with some other address.
Also there's a chance that PW Ent has banned the IP you used for some other reason, rules violation or such.

hotwired: Why not ask the person in charge of firewalling to open up that port for you. Surely that can't be a problem unless you're playing somewhere forbidden.

If it's a reasonable sized institution (school, etc ...) or business you're playing at then generally they don't open ports for pretty much anyone that asks, as this can lead to security holes. They know if something happens they're the first to be blamed. You could try asking if you're feeling confident (or daring) though.

Depending on how the proxy server is set up you may be able to use programs like SocksCap or FreeCap to route traffic through the proxy server. Just have to ask for the details of the server to route through (generally just IP and port). This is likely to work if you're at a University or something. I was doing it for the past couple of years while I was there and can tell you it works with PWI (from memory I think you have to select the Launcher.exe as the program to run with SocksCap/FreeCap ...).

Problem statement:When a client is connected to the internet via a LAN proxy, WinXP's firewall does not redirect all port requests.

Situation:Individuals connected to the internet via a LAN proxy, and making use of only WinXP's firewall will be able to download, patch, and start the ElementClient, but will be unable to login or play the game.

Solution:Individuals may choose to use a dial-up solution (for which WinXP redirects all ports correctly). If, however, individuals wish to use a LAN proxy they will need to install a firewall and/or proxy solution. This will catch all port connections and channel it through to the proxy server.Recommendation:I have used ProxyFirewall (from http://uniqueinternetservices.com) successfully to login and commence play on PerfectWorld International's servers without any problems.

I'v downloaded SocsCap but there is still a problem.The game starts but before a login window (a window where i need to tipe my id and pass) it show's an error window that there is some problem with proxy cache...P.S. sorry about my english

You can also ask the system admins for your school of location, if they will allow traffic to our game servers. Many admins won't have an issue if they know you won't be downloading illegal software with the game.

Many users have had success doing this, and talked some admins into playing the game too!
