I'm on the tailor quest so I can get skills and I need 2 logs. I was told I could find them by withered tree stumps, but I can't find them. Anyone have the cordinates or can someone point me in the right direction. I'm still around the Forest of the Plume..I'm hoping there are some around there nearby.

They told you right. There are no specific coordinates for the withered trees since they move after you have harvested them. You just have to look for them. I usually look for materials while doing other quests.

What you need is a pick axe from the merchant and just to go looking. There is also a rare chance you might get one from a cactopod.

I would look for withered stumps near trees, near big rocks and maybe near cliff edges. However, you should only bother looking in areas where you have seen other harvestable mines or flowers.

If you are really desperate, you just wait for 10-11 minutes (they take that long to respawn) and watch someone else dig them up. Then, you will know roughly where to be looking in another 10-11 minutes. (And if you run your game in windowed mode you will be able to see your computer's time.) Or, if no one has come through to be harvesting them, start looking behind trees, behind rocks, and so on.

Sometimes if you move your mouse over some blurry gray thing you will discover a stump.

I found both of my logs by those cactopods just keep killing them till you get them its a 50% chance of gettting it!

There is a canyon called Dragon's Breath Valley (234 677) that I found 3 of them one right after the other.

The area around RT has the largest concentration of lvl 1 herbs and mats.
