Ok, the thing is, I was talking about this with some guys and I start doing some math on top on my head... Someone help me with this stuff and tell me if I am wrong.
Ok, now down to bussiness
sage amplify damage > cooldown 30 seconds, +30% damage for 20 seconds
demon amplify damage > cooldown 30 seconds, +25% damage for 26 seconds.
Soo lets consider a phoenix attacking at 1 attack per second, doing 100 damage in a certain mob.
with amplify damage sage, that would mean:
130 damage * 20 seconds + 100 damage * 10 seconds = 2600 + 1000 = 3600
and now with amplify damage demon, that would mean:
125 damage * 26 seconds + 100 damage * 4 seconds = 3250 + 400 = 3650
Soo if we consider that the cooldown of amplify damage is 30 seconds, that would mean that a demon amplify would give better end damage overall than a demon one rigth?
I am not considering any kind of pvp or TW, just normal boss kill or grinding. If something here is wrong, please help me correcting this.
Any opinions would be welcomed, please keep it a clean of spam topic also.
EDIT [edited because I fail at math]

Demon amp is better if there's only one veno in the squad. If you have two or more, however, sage amp outperforms it.

Since when can you find 2 venos who actually amp in the same squad and then can coordinate them? Did an FB89 tonight and the bosses died before Demon Amp would matter. Something to consider in these days of uber gears and high refines.

There's also a 1.5 sec channel time, so the cycle time is actually 30 + 1.5 = 31.5 sec.
Sage: (1.3*20 + 1.0*11.5) / 31.5 = 1.19075 = average 19.1% more damage
Demon: (1.25*26 + 1.0*5.5) / 31.5 = 1.2063 = average 20.6% more damage
If you have a second veno who can fill in the gap, Sage works out better.
Sage: (1.3*20 + 1.2*11.5) / 31.5 = 1.2635 = average 26.3% more damage
Demon: (1.25*26 + 1.2*5.5) / 31.5 = 1.2413 = average 24.1% more damage
But they're both so close that I wouldn't make a big deal about it. If you had to split hairs, I'd say Demon is more solofriendly, Sage is better for groups (stuff in FB89 and FB99 tends to die in less than 20 sec with 2+ people in squad.

I'm not great with the numbers but assuming one veno in squad wouldn't the demon veno need to be Johny on the Spot about using amp the exact second it cools down in order to beat the sage version? I like the sage version because it give you a few seconds to cast lending hand, soultransfuse/metabolic boost, or build chi without feeling like your wasting valuable amp time.
Of course point is moot because the dang skill only shows up in AH once in a blue moon for 20m. I can't bring myself to drop 4.5m at the CHANCE to make the book either QQ
